The past two weeks have been horrible for the staffers of the Mayo Clinic. More than 900 of them were diagnosed with COVID-19.
According to Dr. Amy Williams, dean of clinical practices at the hospital system, around 93 percent of these COVID-19 cases were contracted in community areas like break rooms. It shows how easy it is to get COVID-19, even when you are eating with your mask off.
2,981 employees at Mayo Clinic were diagnosed with the virus since the outbreak. However, what is more concerning is that the number from the last two weeks consists of one-third of the total.
Needless to say, we are facing a nationwide staff shortage (approximately 1,500).
