The largest vaccination campaign in the history of the U.S. started on Monday as health workers from selected hospitals started receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Surely, it marks a day of optimism even though the nation’s death toll neared 300,000.

COVID-19 Vaccine

Critical case nurse Sandra Lindsay said, “I feel hopeful today. Relieved” after getting the COVID-19 Vaccine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York.

Shipments containing frozen vials of vaccine made by Pfizer and BioNTech began arriving at hospitals throughout the country on Monday.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said, “This is the light at the end of the tunnel. But it’s a long tunnel.” as he watched Lindsay’s vaccination via video.

Now, the aim is to get vaccines rapidly for millions, not just doctors and nurses, but other health workers at risk, including janitors and food handlers.
