F.D.A. has granted emergency approval to the coronavirus antibody treatment given to Trump.
The Trump Antibody Treatment was made by biotech company Regeneron. It was a combination of two powerful antibodies, which had shown that it is possible to keep the infection in check and reduce medical visits for patients, given that patients receive this in early stages of infection.
Another similar treatment made by Eli Lilly earlier this month was also given emergency approval.
However, the authorization is only available for people who have already tested positive for the coronavirus and are at a higher risk of developing severe COVID-19. The Federal government has already paid Regeneron more than $500 million to develop and manufacture the treatment.
The first 300,000 doses will be provided to the patients for free, and they only need to pay for the treatment administered.
